The New Packaging Act (VerpackG)

The new Packaging Act entered into force on 1 January 2019. It also includes important new obligations for online retailers – even if they only put small quantities of packaging on the market.

How to comply with the packaging law in 4 easy steps:

1. Registration with the Zentrale Stelle (Central Agency / LUCID)

Visit the Website of the Central Agency Packaging Register here: lucid.verpackungsregister.org and register within the so called LUCID Register

2. Participation in a compliance scheme

Register there and conclude a contract. You can calculate your costs with our free online calculator.

3. Data Reporting

Report your packaging quantities within EASy Shop and report them also to the Central Agency and their LUCID Register.

4. Yearly reporting

Two times a year you have to report your packaging quantities within EASy Shop and the LUCID register. At the end of the year you have to report your planned quantities for the next year and at the beginning of a year you have to report the real quantities that you have put onto the market.

Loyalty pays: Starting from the 3rd year only 50 € p.a. plus VAT.

Have you concluded the participation agreement? Then you must report the quantity of packaging you have actually put into circulation once a year.
